The Last Queen's Mausoleum in Yangon 

A Hidden Historical Site 

When you pay a visit to the great Shwe Dagon Pagoda of Yangon, you can easily stop by this mausoleum complex in the Kandawmin Garden, near the southern gate of Shwe Dagon. The mausoleum of Supayalat, the last Burmese Queen, is standing tall next to the mausolea of Myanmar's other significant historical and political figures- Daw Khin Kyi, a Burmese diplomat and the wife of General Aung San, U Thant, the third Secretary-General of the UN, and Thakin Kodaw Hmaing, a great poet, political leader and peace activist of the 20th century Myanmar.
