Video Support

Our video explains the three tones of Burmese in a simple way. As in our book we use Burmese script to teach how to pronounce Burmese correctly.
Our third video introduces the seven Burmese vowel sounds, their tones and the related scripts. It also contains an exercise. Enjoy.
Our fifth video explains glottal stops, how to pronounce them and how you can recognize their script. It also contains some exercises. We also addressed the relation to the creaky tone.
Our seventh video continues with medial consonants and consonant clusters. It is built around two conversations of young Burmese speakers.
This video explains pronunciation of Burmese consonants in quite some detail.
This video explains the difference between unaspirated and aspirated consonants in the Burmese language.

Our fourth video focusses on nasal sounds, both consonants and vowels. It also contains an exercise for the viewer to identify nasal vowels.
Our sixth video introduces the medial consonants and consonant clusters. Burmese words are composed of consonant clusters most of the time. Therefore this is an important feature to study and practice.
The animation is entertaining. Try to recognize the Burmese consonants as they appear.
