The World of Letters by Zeyar Lynn

The renowned contemporary Burmese poet Zeyar Lynn plays with colloquial as well as classical Burmese words in his adaptation of the abecedarian poetic form of the Roman alphabet. The poem is composed of variable lines where the initial letters or the words take the sequence of the letters in the Burmese Alphabet. The beauty of the poem is the intertwinement of Myanmar words and phrases guided by the alphabet while their aesthetic values are maintained in the poetic register.

ကုမုဒြာရဲ့ ကိမိလဗေဒကသိုဏ်းဟာလည်း ကံစွပ်ကံညားမဟုတ်ခဲ့ဘူး
ကင်းမလက်မည်းကြီးကိုလည်း ကောင်းချီးဩဘာပေးပါရန်
ခုနစ်စဉ်ကြယ် စကြာဝဠာမှာ ခေါင်းလောင်းထိုးပြီး ချိုးစိမ်းချိုးနီတို့
ချိုးပိန်တူး ချိုးလင်းပြာ ချိုးလည်ပြောက် ချိုးသိမ်းတို့ ခြိမ့်ခြိမ့်သည်း
